Strategically located throughout Madrid, SEUR’s five micro-depots meet the needs of urban customers for sustainable and hassle-free last mile delivery. So well that the company received a “Best Ideas of the Year” Award for its initiative.
With a dense urban population of 3.1 million, Madrid poses multiple delivery challenges for traditional vans, especially when it comes to parking. By developing five micro-depots, SEUR was able to replace many of its vans with electric bikes and increase on-foot delivery.
Thanks to these micro-depots, all of which are conveniently located near the city centre, urban customers benefit from extended opening hours from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., a 1-hour time window for their deliveries, and an array of other smart services.
Covering 21,600 km, SEUR’s alternative fleet reduces CO2 emissions by 16% per parcel. This initiative to offer customers sustainable and hassle-free last mile delivery earned SEUR the Actualidad Económica “Best Ideas of the Year” award in 2018.
